this is a series of letters which might give you some ideas for how to compose such a thing if you need to correspond with someone about a subject you might find tricky. obviously, you would want to put in your own name, email address, examples, etc...but i would suggest just using these for ideas and to remember what you need to include in your letter. it would sure seem dumb if everyone started using the same letters all the time! no need to credit me here; i don't expect anyone to write a letter to someone and then at the end say "by the way, i used tea's form letters; her website is www.antagonia.net." if you want to post these elsewhere as a resource material, however, please do provide a link to me and credit me, tea. if you have any questions or suggestions or need help drafting a different kind of letter regarding your work in KiSS, please just drop me an email!

Letter #1: Request permission to distribute someone's work

Hi, my name is X and I have a KiSS gallery on my website, www.x.com.
I really like your KiSS set, Y, and wanted to know if it would be possible for me to post it to my page?
Please reply with either a yes or no.

If you would like your set on my page, please also provide me with the name you would like to be credited under, your preferred email address, and the URL of your website if you have one. The filename I have for your set is Y.lzh. if this is not correct, please give me the correct .lzh filename as well.

I also like to provide preview thumbnails of sets on my page. Do you have any preferences as to what image I use for the preview?

Thank you so much for your time! I certainly hope you consider permitting me to post your set! Please check out my page (www.x.com) to decide if it is right for your set! If you have any other sets you would like me to post, either instead of, or in addition to, Y, do not hesistate to mail them to me at this address, x@x.com.

If you have any questions at all, please just drop me a note.

Thank you again, X.

Letter #2: Request permission to use a part of a KiSS set in a new KiSS set

Hi, my name is X and I am currently making a KiSS set of X.
I really like your KiSS set, Y, and wanted to know if it would be okay for me to use your Y image (Y1.cel & Y2.cel) and your Z image (Z.cel) in my set.

If I had to, I would rate my set PG-13. It is going to include some nudity and foul language. I plan on releasing this set publicly but of course I will email it to you first for your OK.

If I am permitted to use these images, I plan on editing Y quite a bit, but Z would remain close to the original.

I understand if you would rather not permit me to use these images, but if you do, I will credit you & give the name of the doll in the attached readme.txt.
If you are willing to let me use these images, please let me know what email address to give for you, and whether you have a webpage I should mention. If you have any other stipulations for the use of these images, please just let me know.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask!

Thank you so much!

X.

Letter #3: Request removal of a set from a forum.

Hi, my name is X, and I am a KiSS artist. Your website, www.y.com, hosts a file of my set, X.lzh.

Unfortunately I no longer want this set distributed publicly through your site because A, B, and C. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and I do appreciate your timely removal of X.lzh.

Thank you very much.

X

Letter #4: Request credit for set.

Hi, my name is X, and I am a KiSS artist. Your website, www.y.com, hosts a file of my set, X.lzh.

Unfortunately, I never granted permission for this set to be distributed through your website. While KiSS sets are free, this does not mean they are free to distribute. You must have the permission of the artist (in this case, me) to post a set publicly.

In addition, I have not been credited properly on your site.
To properly credit a KiSS artist, you should provide their name next to the link to the file, and a link to his or her personal website.

I will be happy to allow you to continue to distribute my work if you can credit me properly with the name X and a link to my website, www.x.com. If this is not possible, however, I must request that you remove the file X.lzh from your site.

You may also want to contact the other artists whose work is posted on your site, if you do not already have permission from them to post it, explain the situation, and ask for permission.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you very much.

X
