Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
Seth, having spent a bit of time feeling rather useless in the retrieval of Acorn from wherever it was she'd been taken, but as she was nominally back, he'd been more than content to know that at the very least there was a good outcome.
But, well, the castle was a castle, not a city, so one heard things. Like that "Dareen" was not precisely Morgana's Acorn and had gone missing.
He found himself again following a little red thread, though this one took him somewhere he could actually get to, which was more than fine with him. Seth took a breath, hefted the small bag and skin under his arm, and pushed his way into the cheeseroom. "Hello?" he asked carefully, "Is anyone in here?"

And he was immediately struck in the head by a large hunk of cheese flung from above.

"Gah!" exclaimed the magician, covering his head with the bag he closed the door behind him, "Truce! Truce! I've not come to reveal you!"

"Go away!" squeaked a voice from above. The entire floor was now a web of cutting-wire criss-crossed between the standing shelves. "I've a wheel of cheddar up here weighs at least two stone and it's coming down next!"

Seth sighed a little and held up his bag and skin, "But you haven't tea, bread nor chocolate," replied the magician. "I've all three as gifts if you'd like." He smiled upward, braced for an assault of cheese, "By my name, I've not come to reveal you nor to harm nor remove you."

Re: Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
Silence from the upper shelves. Then a wiry brown girl of about twelve, dressed in ragged trouser through which her bony knees protruded, climbed down the shelves as if they were a ladder. She stepped in a carefully constructed ring in the middle of the net of wires. "This whole place is booby-trapped," she announced. "Step where I do or you'll be cut to ribbons. Or else be crushed to death by a half-tonne of cheese."

Seth looked at the crisscrossing wires and up to the shelves and shelves of cheese, giving a nod, "Good neighbour for the warning," he said as good-naturedly as one can with the threat of crushing or cutting hanging over you before following in her footsteps as carefully as he could, "I'm glad to see you've found a place of your own here. I was afraid you'd have tried to venture outside."

The girl regarded him with grave suspicion. "What's wrong with your hair?" she asked at last.

Seth laughed a little and pulled his hair back to show one of his ears, "I fear I'm tallfolk. My particular sort of tallfolk seem to be a very pale people; even our hair." The magician smiled a little at her, "How are you holding up? Besides clearly being far more resourceful than I was prepared to expect."

"Did they send you to talk me out? Tell them I'll not negotiate." She tipped her head up proudly. "I've set up a base camp and I can live here comfortably for quite some time."
