She cocked her head to one side, considering him; her crown of vines tumbled off. "But still you may do more with her than I can. You can lay hold of her be she beguiled or not."
She shrugged, then straightened. "You may come with me," she said grandly, "and I will show her to you."

"This way lies the secret tunnel. It is not so very secret," she said, with a note faintly resembling frustration. There was not, over all, a lot of inflection in her tone, only a faint sing-song lilt.

She paused only long enough to pull the loop of her sleeve back up to her shoulder. "But this is a child's place. I have no care for children. Look."
She picked up a long stick and used it to poke apart the grasses to reveal a hard-tamped trail hidden beneath them. "Beware: sometimes the rabbit-men come this way."
