Re: One Where Seth Checks In, 25 Dumann
"Indeed? Hm." Seth looked puzzled for a moment before shrugging, "I suppose I should be happy to warrant the attention of such beings. I've met the woman in black a couple times; I only know the woman in red by reputation."
"Still, it seems we should bid her good neighbour for the assistance in the matter of Acorn." he paused for a moment before sighing, "Though I suppose it is not so simple as him being caught and then tearfully confessing, is it?"
Was it ever?

"No, he's denying it, and the Countess is appeasing him." He rolled his eyes. "It's because of Dee. If she takes Duncan away..." He sighed and let the thought go unspoken. "She's playing a waiting game until Acorn comes back. Hopefully she'll recognize who took her."

"If she takes him away, good riddance. Though I would hope that the poor woman sees what a shit he is so that she might leave him somewhere. Preferably in a ditch." He rubbed at the back of his neck for a moment, a look of some frustration on his face.
"Do we know where she is, then? Or is it just that he has no reason to harm her? Or some sort of promise that she'll return?"

"He just took her and handed her off." Davide replied, reaching out to touch the man's shoulder. "I don't know what happened to her after that, no more than you do. And Dee won't leave him. He's the father of her children."

Seth made a face and sighed, "Blast," he muttered, reaching a hand up to touch Davide's hand on his shoulder.
"Quite a mess, then, hm?" he joked half-heartedly before smiling at the man, "Still. He got a fraction of what's owed him because of you. I suppose that's something."

"I suppose. I put the Countess in the position of trying to please him in the same breath as knowing that he took her niece." He shook his head. "I'm sorry for that, but I'm not sorry really for what I did to him. And the Countess can figure her way out."

"If he is very lucky, she won't tell Morgana," Seth half-joked, "Still and all, Niabheara has had some experience with manipulative men who think their plots clever. This one may last a while and... and I think she will find a way through."
Was there admiration there? Certainly.
Though perhaps some sadness as well.
"I think you did a good thing, however it turns out," he said, reaching out to touch Davide's uninjured arm, "You found a link in the chain and, I imagine, laid him out something fierce. The first of many questions answered. Were I not quite sure that I do not need to drink any more, I would say we should have a drink."

Davide shifted so that he was a bit closer to Seth. "I have a bit of mead left, if you want some. I'm not one for drinking so early in the morning myself."

"I can wait, then," he replied with a shrug, moving a bit closer to Davide as well with a cautious smile, "Later, perhaps. After dinner. House arrest or not, politics or not, you deserve some recognition."
He smiled a bit at the man, "Good neighbour for the offer, though. I should likely make such a policy myself, if only to keep myself from looking like a jackass."

"There's no shame in barely holding your liquor when you're around a bunch of people who treat drinking as a sort of pastime." He assured the other man. "You shouldn't worry about what people think, anyway. They're usually wrong."
