Davide stretched back out on the bed, limp as a ragdoll, his breathing returning to normal. "That was a good hour." He said, yawning. "For me, at least. I'd no idea you could do that."

Judith lay on her back, one knee up, hand braced against her forehead. She had just about enough wind left to laugh at his response. "I think you said that last time I did that, too." She sat up, shaking her head--which had at some point in the proceedings come free of its braid and hung like a dense dark cloud around her head--and swung her legs over the side of the bed, which was where she gave up. "Goddamn I need a drink."

"Ask Niabheara's spy to bring one up." He suggested, pushing himself up on his arm to look at her from behind. "Or is that your way of saying we need to put our clothes back on?" He asked, hesitantly.

She flipped her hair back enough to look at him over her shoulder, curiously, as if she wasn't sure what he was implying. But she lay back down again, and pressed herself up against him. "Cold," she explained. "We can't stay up here forever, though."

He drew the pelt around her and snuggled her in close, satisfied again. "I realize that." He replied. "We can stay for a bit, though. You throwing your legs to the floor every time we finish makes it feel like we've just come out of a business deal."

She raised an eyebrow, even as she pulled the pelts up to her shoulders. "Please don't get attached here, Davide," she said, completely earnest. "You're a friend and all, but I really can't take it. I'm terrible to people who get too attached."

He looked down at her. "I'm not getting attached. You're a friend and all, but I don't treat you like a lump of meat or worse." He replied. "I understand this is meaningless. You don't have to treat me like I am, though. I don't treat you that way."

She gave him a long, considered look. "I apologise if I seemed that way, then," she said at last. "It's not what I meant. It's not meaningless. You are not meaningless. It's hard to explain, sometimes." She sighed. "But it has been a long time since I spent the whole night in a room with someone and not been in jail," she added, teasing.

"Aye." He replied, and twirled a finger through her hair, thinking, and smiling. "I know it's hard not to fall in love with me, but still. You could stand some time to let someone hold you. Plus, it was snowing and I'm in no hurry to bundle myself up and head back to my empty room to write a report for the queen's rabbit."

She gave a low, nervous chuckle. "Oh gods, please tell me you're joking. I am so, so sorry, Davide. At least it wasn't Titania; she would have either fucked you blind or turned you into a rabbit by now." Judith was decidedly uncomfortable with the idea of pillow-talk, while simultaneously seeming amused with her own discomfort.
