"Oh Starling, Elaine's right. Come off it already, even Curr's being braver. You needn't act all huffy." She told him, walking after him. "I'll make sure we're safe."

"I appreciate the compliment," Curr replied to Lang dryly, although he did sort of sidle towards the other side of her to be as far away from angry Elaine as he could reasonably get.

"No, it's more like every time somethin' like this happens it's always good to have someone who knows where we are in case shit goes tits-up." It was going to be a rough night if he managed to piss off both Barbara and Elaine. "Now you just sound like Judith."

Elaine's chin wobbled. "Fine!" she snapped, and threw her hands up. "I'll go. I don't need to see some stupid dead bodies anyway. Have fun."

She elbowed past Starling in spite of the fact that there was enough room that she really didn't need to elbow past.

"Elaine." Barbara said, frustrated. "Ashon should be back at the inn!" She called, and looked over at Starling. "You know, Curr and I waited downstairs for you two. Not to mention all the times I had to pretend you weren't in the locker. I'm just saying."

"I am stayin' right the hell out of this," was all Curr said, looking even more uncomfortable now that Elaine was storming off like that.

"You don't even know where you're goin'!" Starling shouted after Elaine. He rubbed his side where her elbow had banged into him, then glared hotly at Barbara. "She's the sea-witch. She'll be fine. Let's just find these dead blokes."

"Huh." Lang replied, her brows raised. "Your decision." She replied. "I'm glad I never have to be sixteen again." She added.

"You have built an angry hornet's nest above your head, you know," Curr said to Starling matter-of-factly. "Next time you see her you'd best try real hard not to hit it with a stick by not apologizin' properly for pissin' her off."

"I didn't even say anything!" Starling cried out, frustrated. "She just assumed . . . oh, to hell with it, let's just go . . . "
