Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
"It's gonner look odd if we all go trooping in like ghouls," Starling said. "Let's try to find this place before we go glammin' ourselves up."

Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
"Right, because two people suddenly changing their appearance on a public street won't look weird at all," Elaine said, sticking her tongue out. "Where would a place like that be? Near the police?"

Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
"Ja, somewhere near the city buildings. My guess is that there would be a crowd, or at least people about, hoping for a glance." She suggested and started off, before looking at Curr. "You're good at glamming. That's spooky."

Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
"Dunno how I'd be any good at it, I didn't e'en know how to do it 'til Starling showed me how a few years ago, 'round the time Spider got shot" Curr said, uneasy about the compliment, but then he was mostly uneasy about basically everything at this point in the adventure. "I'm pretty sure it was a mercy teachin' after th' Judith cut me hair."
He shrugged at Elaine. "Well, no one gave me a second look," he said, matter-of-fact. "So I think we're fine."

"You were old enough that someone had to show you." Starling started to follow the one adult in this group, but then gave Elaine a worried look. "Someone really ought to go tell the others we're actually doin' this mad thing."

Elaine hesitated. "Starling's right," she agreed. "If something goes wrong...or...you know."

"First it's Lang, Lang, why can't we do this, why aren't you helping, and now it's let's tell someone, to be safe?" She rolled her eyes. "This is the last time I babysit the juniors. Fine. Let's go and tell someone what we're on about and see if they'll let us go out, as long as we're back by bedtime."

Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
Curr just gave Lang a look as though the two of them were adults who were in on this affectionate expaseration thing and shrugged. "If you want to," he said out loud.

Starling rolled his eyes. "I was actually meanin' Curr or Elaine," he said, "but you know what? I'm pretty sure I can manage this by meself if you want to see your way out." He brushed past her and started off ahead.

Re: The One Where They Need Better Locks
Elaine stopped, dead still. "What the hell, Starling?" she asked, sounding hurt. "What, are you trying to get me to go back to the ship so I don't get hurt or some over protective man-bullshit now?"
