"You would be surprised." Barbara replied, and gave Judith a sort of grave nod, looking as if she just very much wanted to be on the other side of the ship. "And we can help the crew. Anything you need."

"Wouldn't have it any other way, Captain." She flashed him a grin. "We ladies won't let any harm come to you."

"Put your look-out on it and keep your men on the ready," she said. "We've got less'n half a hour. Could speed it up but I've fucked up so many ships doin' that, you just don't know. That'll be all, Captain."

Judith's voice popped into Barbara's head: This hair-pie tries to dick us and I will gut him like a fish, so help me. I am not in the mood.

Lang glared at Judith, and then at the captain, before she realized that the woman was talking into her head again. "You're not allowed to kill my father in law." She said quietly, staring at the captain's back as he walked away. "Or uncle in law. I can pistol whip him if you want to mutiny." She offered.

"Judith!?" Elaine asked, as she sidled her way in. "Where do we sleep? The Navy is sort of ogling me. All of it is, I mean."

Judith sighed. "I am not gonner kill anyone. Or mutiny." She paused, then nodded, as if she just decided that yes, she was not going to mutiny. "They do us a good turn, we do them a good turn. They play fair, we play fair. I just don't trust 'em not to send us over and try to ditch us if it gets rough."

She pressed her lips at Elaine's call. "Under the circumstances, ignore 'em unless they put a hand on you. You stick near me or your father."

Barbara nodded. "What about Spider, Rosemary and I?" She asked, looking around. "I can handle them awake, but not alseep. Fucking Navy. Would be easier to show them who's boss from the get go and fill the brig with anyone who disagrees." She argued.
