"But I don't think..." Elaine frowned. "Despair and bad feelings are the things we feel strongest of all...about from love and joy...and...love and joy are rarer, aren't they?" she asked. "For...well, for people like Jochiem, aren't they? Maybe whatever you are senses emotions in their purest form and that's what was rawest and strongest in him."

She bit her lip. "I was asking because I was thinking...what if whatever you are...the thing you were before you were a person...what if what he really wanted to do was kill that? I mean, murder you? And he wasn't strong enough, or couldn't, or it wasn't in his power, so he had to coax you into a body and get you to do the job yourself?"

"That... sorta makes sense" Jochy admitted. "I just wish... I didn't have to worry about him you know? That I could know that he wouldn't come back and mess up my life, that I could just be rid of him once and for all. hell, I wouldn't even care about what his bloody plans were, as long as I knew they didn't involve me anymore!"

"I just want to know what you are," Elaine said softly. "I think it would start to give us some answers about what his plans for you are-or-were. I don't-- the Aspects promised that if he became one of them, he couldn't mess with any of us, ever again, Jochy. And if he did, he'd be wiped out of existence."

She traced his ear wit her fingertip. "You're amazing," she said quietly. "Do you know that? You're breathtaking and incredible."

"I'd fancy knowing what I am too. But I could live without it if I could get a guarantee that I'd remain me, you know?" Jochy grinned a bit at the thought of his father being wiped from existance. "Couldn't they wipe him beforehand? That'd save us all the bother. I don't think he's capable not messing with people. That's his bloody life." The grimace was involuntary.

"And I ain't amazing." Jochy gave her a wry smile. "I'm just good at getting out of shit in one piece." He pondered for a moment, then added "Well, moderately one piece anyway."

"I think the idea is that they already mess with people, but they have to mess with people according to the rules," Elaine said. "So he'd...you know, be required to mess with people, but only the way they told him to. And you are amazing," she insisted, sounding a bit awed. "What you are, that you exist at all? And that you've been able to come together and pretty much be something completely different, with a different nature? You're a miracle."

"Oh shut up." Jochy grimaced, embarrassed despite himself. But it... it felt nice. To hear something nice said. It wasn't often that happened really. Hell, it was rare enough so that he had no idea how to react. No idea how to reply.

So instead he kissed her, that was after all one answer that suited pretty much everything. Once he had broken the kiss, he laughed softly "No more than you, spoiled convent girl escaping from Davey Jones himself."

She kissed him back, and as she did, she slipped herself into his lap, straddling his legs with her knees. "I'm sure there are plenty of spoiled convent girls who do that," she answered nicely, and then she gave him a long, considering look. "What now?"

"Damned if I know" Jochy admitted "I still want to sleep with you, but I ain't sure it's less stupid now than an hour ago." Still, he wrapped his arms around her to make her comfortable, it was getting a little chilly on the roof now that the evening winds were coming in from the sea. "And I don't think you appreciate your own weirdness... in the best possible way that is. I haven't... seriously, I've never met anybody even remotely like you."

Elaine cocked an eyebrow up at him. "And you're telling me I need to get out more," she teased. She kissed him again, slowly and softly, and ran a hand down to rest it against his chest. "It is much less stupid," she told him seriously. "I know you know what you did wrong, and I think you'll try not to do it again. And we're not caught up in the moment now."

She nibbled lightly at his lip. "If you still want me, you can have me," she said softly. "Right here, like this. Without even taking my dress off. Only it's got to be very gentle and sweet and slow. We have to be thinking the whole time."

"Is the want you some form of trick question?" Jochy asked with a raised eyebrow as he nibbled her nose. "Because you -are- sitting in my lap. You ought to know if anybody." And yes, yes he did still want her very much.

Achingly much in fact. And it showed.

He pondered a moment as he kissed her, taking his time with it. He felt wring out, emotionally, and she... this just felt so good. Being here. With her. Maybe gentle didn't need to be boring. "It would be a change from the usual can't wait to get out of the close bit.." The smirk was soft and teasing.
