Re: Maalech and Morgan goes back to the Wreaths - 6 Simivisonna
"We both were named that, do not forget it. Still, prophecy..." Maalech scoffed in disdain "I never took stock in it. Most times it is a tool used to manipulate people where they need to be."
The frown was faint but evident in the growing shadows. "Remember one thing. Many people have the capacity to take someone's life, but not everyone is a Killer. Just because you have the talent that you have does not define you as one. Your choices do. And at the moment they are most certainly not the choices of a destroyer."

"Yeah, but I'm that, too. If I need to be." Morgan smiled some at the man, "And don't discount prophesy yet. Maybe being human's let you forget that there's a long-term way things can go. I do this, maybe when she gets her power back, she goes crazy and starts a war all her own, lays waste to thousands of people before she's stopped. I didn't do it right. I'm a Destroyer. And so on."
Morgan shrugged, "But it's the only option I see."

"There are no safe choices, even death has repercussions. Do you believe it will be hard to regain the cards? I would rather we do it as soon as we heard from Seth. The longer we wait, the greater the risk." He went silent for a moment, then smiled faintly. "Perhaps you should talk to your son about what he learned."
There was no reason really, Seth would contact him in due time, but Morgan tended to get that rather lost look when his son was discussed. Perhaps they needed more excuses to talk.

"It won't be hard. The girl's Magus seemed pretty down to Earth. And when it's done, he's not a Magus, right? He won't need 'em." Morgan shrugged some before sighing.
"Yeah. I probably should talk to him about it all."
Lost? The look on his face could be described as that.

"I am, after all supposed to recuperate." As if to illustrate that point, Maalech slid a bit further down the wall, by now utterly comfortable in the warm sand. "I did mention to him that I had been injured."
Yes, perhaps the scope was less than grand, but it was hard not to think of life in terms of plots and plans.

"Melekain. Loafing around on the beach. Ol' Jack'd eat his hat to see this." Morgan laughed a little then before shrugging.
"I bet that's about a world-breaker for him, hm?" Morgan smiled. "The great Maalech having problems. A body that mattered. Getting old." The man laughed some, "Well, it's a good lesson for Seth, if nothing else; we're all human on the inside or something."
"Are you feeling much better?"

"We are all human. That was never something that I denied." Maalech frowned faintly, admitting "But perhaps I was of the belief that in the choice between Art and Life it was clear which one was more important if you had the talent." It struck him at that moment, how his views had changed recently. It had happened so gradually he had hardly noticed.
Little by little.
Though he supposed the true test of his beliefs would be once this year was over and he regained his Art. If he would live that long.
"My head hurts. I still feel slightly nauseous. But I do not think there was any bleeding, this was a warning more than anything else."

"Well, that's something. Better a warning than death. It's the honourable thing to do. Good to see your body's got a little." Morgan smiled a little at that before shrugging, "It's a tough call, always. And I don't think it's one you can ever make the right decision on."
Morgan smiled a little, "But at least you made the choice, right?"

"I made the right choice for the circumstances. The circumstances... have changed, but I would not be here to see them changing had I made any other choice. It is useless to rue the past." And yet he did.
He was not perfect.
"Go see your son. And get the cards. I do not relish giving her a second chance." That was as close to an order as he gave these days.

Morgan frowned some.
It DID sound like an order.
But he said nothing. Just shrugged and he was gone.
