Re: Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
"I am not your jailer," replied Seth with a shrug, "And I cannot say whether or not you can go home. Indeed, I haven't a very good idea how you would go about it. I kept trying to find a way to find Acorn, but..." he shrugged some and frowned, "And there, right there, is some of why there is curiosity around your Tumnus. There is a creature on this map called the Puck, who delights in pranks--and, in truth, is quite good at them--and also delights in children; as well as the misery of many of this castle's inhabitants."

"The other fellow pretended he knew Mr. Tumnus," she said, scowling. "Now I think he was just trying to make me trust him."

"Other fellow?" inquired Seth, "Had he seen Mister Tumnus or was he relying on description?"

"He knew what Mr. Tumnus looked like," she explained carefully, "but I think he might be the one who sent the spy. We always knew there were spies coming from the other countries. We just rousted the agents of the Nome King from trying to turn us all into small green ornaments."

"Ah," replied Seth, a look on his face which showed how little he expected such an image, "I confess, I do not know the comings and goings of everyone, but I do not know that Cnoch-na-Niall ever had any dealings with any gnomes so at least they are not in league with that enemy. I can hardly fathom why anyone would send a spy..."
He shook his head a little, "Who was it that you think sent the spy? Did he say what he was called?"

"He was called Umar," she said. "He showed up as a grown-up and we killed him but it didn't work. Then a little while later a little boy came back but it was the same person and he tricked me under the table and when I came out that woman tried to wrap me up in a blanket so I cut my way out and when the other fellow tried to grab me I stabbed him. But then . . . " Her voice trailed away. "But then he got stuff everywhere. It was gross."

Re: Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
"That would be the man who went to find Acorn. I apologize if he seemed like a spy; I should imagine it was more that he..." he was about to say that Umar was looking for her, but that hardly seemed productive, "thought that Acorn was there and mistook you for her."
"And do not be too worried about Donal. Morgana is a healer by trade. He will be fine, I've heard." He looked to her for a moment, "Can Mister Tumnus change his shape at all? Or have you ever tested him with..." he tilted his head a little, "Have you learned glamourie yet? I have not noticed if you were using it so far."

"What d'you mean, glamourie?" she asked. "Mr. Tumnus was just a little faun. I mean, not one of the big important fauns like Pan, but an ordinary sort of faun. He never changed shapes. Shapeshifters are bad. It's like lying."

Re: Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
"Hm," said the magician with a slight nod, "Then your Mister Tumnus is certainly not our Puck unless he has developed a great love for lying to children." The idea did not seem terribly far-fetched but his study of the Puck's character was not hardly as deep as it could have been.
"As to Glamourie, though... Glamourie is the Tuatha's birthright, it is..." He frowned a bit before shrugging and saying, "It is a bit like shapeshifting, only you change how a thing appears instead of it's actual shape. I would show you, only... I fear any attempts to do so would be but a pale imitation."

"What is a tootha?" she asked promptly.
