Re: Lost Boy meets Lost Girl, 25 Dumann
"Then for your sake, I will hope for that. It is a beautiful thing to have a home." He bit his lip then, "If you do go, though, I hope you will let someone know. The person who is known here, the one you are doubtless tired of hearing about--the gods know I was tired of hearing of the other-me who was spoken of--was much-beloved and for you to simply disappear and leave them worried for you would break their hearts."

She let out a tired groan. "But I don't belong here," she said. "They've got the wrong person. And if they don't, I don't want to stay. My mother is dreadful."

"She is worried. Someone has taken her child and replaced her with a young woman who does not know her. Have some patience for her." He chuckled a little, "Though I can well imagine it a trial."
To the former point, though, he could only shrug his wrists a little, "Nor do I. I suppose I should make some appeal that you could do so in time and I think that is not my decision to make." He extended the cup of tea toward her. "I only wish to see you... if not happy, then at least comfortable until it is time for you to go."

This time she took the tea without sobbing over it, although she stuck her nose in and gave the liquid a sniff. "I don't want to be patient. I told they got it wrong. They won't listen. That's false imprisonment, that."

The tea was peppermint, Seth's drink of choice when it came to softening strong emotions. "I cannot say. I hear so many different things about your story, about Tumnus and the Puck and so many other elements of your tale and Morgana's..." he shrugged his wrists, "And I don't think they mean to imprison you; they worry that perhaps you are confused or the victim of some trickery or mind-magic. You would not listen to someone under those constraints, I would think."
He poured himself a cup of tea then and took a sip, "What was it like, your home?"

"But I'm not." She looked frustrated with him. "I should think I know who I am and where I've been better than anyone I don't even know." Finally she taste the tea. "My house was lovely. Mostly because no one was trying to keep me locked into it."

Seth made a small gesture with his hand and nodded, "Then you are not Morgana's Acorn. I suppose she will have to learn to accept that she is gone." He sighed a bit at that, the prospect not a pleasant one in the slightest.
But perhaps necessary.
"I apologize if you feel you are being held here. The Tuatha are a child-loving people, you see. They do not have them easily and Morgana... I cannot tell you how she loved the girl she believes you are. And who I wish to believe you are as well because of the affection I hold for her." He smiled sheepishly at her then, "I have a great love for stories, you see, for the well-tied ends wherein lost families are found and all those sorts of things. I so often forget that the world is not always so simple."

"I'm sorry. If it's true." She frowned. "But I had my own friends and my own home and I don't want to be stuck here. Besides, if the other little girl comes back, what's going to happen to me?"

"Ah. Yes. My apologies. The 'if' must be quite insulting." Seth bowed his head a little, "I will ask your patience with me as well." He furrowed his brow a little, "I do not suppose you could find your Mister Tumnus? The common belief--which has not been correct regarding you, but which may be so regarding your Mister Tumnus--is that he may be of help to us in sorting this out. Your identity, if not Acorn's whereabouts."

She frowned sharply, as if the idea had never occurred to her. "I . . . suppose. Maybe." Then, craftily: "If you let me go home I could ask him to help. He's very good at finding people, and he likes little girls. He loves all children. I am his favorite, of course," she added grandly, "but I'm sure he would feel sorry for any other little girl who was lost."
