Goneril ached. She groaned as she turned over on the cot, and her foot hung well off the edge. She blinked, disoriented for a moment, before pushing herself up with a frightened gasp, and looking around the room. She was alone on the cot, her hair and her dress somewhat bedraggled. She relaxed a little as she saw the lump in the big bed, sat up straight, and reached awkwardly over her own shoulders to try to do up her buttons.

The physic who was looking after the Queen in Faolin's absence had also been instructed to keep an eye on Goneril, if need be. The woman smiled at Goneril, nodded polite acknowledgement, then held up a finger for patience before gently tapping Fiona awake.

The Queen woke gracelessly, wincing as she straightened the arm in her lap, wincing more when she pushed herself higher from where she had slumped in the night. She gave her head a little shake, which caused her neck to crack loudly enough that even she grimaced (though the physician tried to be a little more reserved in her dismay). After a moment's quiet conversation in Tuathailli, the physician stepped away and Fiona greeted Goneril. "Good morning. Would you like some help dressing?" Tactfully, she suppressed the instinct to ask how Goneril had slept.

Goneril flushed deeply, and tried to hold the back of her dress closed with her fingers. "N-no,th- er. Good neighbor, I can." She squeezed her eyes shut, looking mortified by the scenario. "Manage," she peeped, and went back to awkwardly buttoning up the back of her dress. "Um..." She took a deep breath, and looked back at Fiona. "Good morning. I'm sorry I...we. Hope. We didn't disturb you?"

"You didn't," Fiona replied to all of the above. "I scarce knew when you came in. Faolin woke me earlier to let me know he was starting out. We agreed to let you sleep."

Goneril managed to get most of her buttons buttoned, and flattened out the front of her dress. "He-- so. He'll be back?" she asked, her voice creaking a bit as she asked it.

The physician returned, and there was a slight bit of awkwardness getting Fiona out of bed. She responded, between panting and struggling to get her head through the neckhole, "Aye. The boat arrived very early. He went down to take care of some things." Finally they reached the stage where Fiona could take over her own dressing. "He has to be back, unless he plans to leave us both here with no word said." And she smiled at Goneril.

Goneril nodded. She eyed the physician, cautious for a moment, and then attempted to find a way to tie up her hair. "I felt badly I barely saw you yesterday. It being your last day and..." She shrugged, sheepish. "I meant to spend more time with you, too."

"I was busy with your lady sister-in-law and the Seelie Queen," Fiona assured her. "And after that I wasn't much up for company, I'm afraid. You did Faolin more good than you would have done me." The corner of her mouth turned inward, making her look a little wistful. "Still, now I wish there was a little extra time." She tried to be cheerful. "On the plus side, they are bringing up your books."

"I know, I..." Goneril rubbed her neck. "Faolin spoke to my brother, too. I...he...I think they actually got along? Anyway. It sounds like I might be visiting for Imbolc. If...if that's all right."

Fiona's pale brows went up, almost invisibly. Her eyes brightened. "Of course. Why wouldn't it be? Will you be back so soon, then?"
