"True enough," Seth replied, "Though much of it hits them in a very different way."

To the latter point, he could only shrug, "In most things I do not. And... and I still like it when I am well thought-of. There always seems to be some derision in thinking of someone as a drunk. Though perhaps that's just old tallfolk thinking." Seth laughed a little and knocked his head playfully.

"Still, though, I seem to have at least some level of esteem from you, so I suppose I am not so bad as my paranoia insists, hm?"

He raised his brows. "You were hungover from a party. That's not being a drunk." He said, and nodded. "Of course you've got high esteem from me. You can do magic, and you're a good person. What's not to like?"

Seth opened his mouth as if to reply.

Then shut it and laughed a little, "Don't tempt me, lest I spend a month answering, at which point I imagine you will rolls your eyes and tell me I'm being delusional." He grinned a bit shaking his head, "Which I probably am."

"So I suppose I'll save us both the trouble, hm?" the magician smiled a bit and squeezed the other man's shoulder, "Apologies, my friend."

Davide looked the man over in wonder. "I've never met anyone who wanted to discuss their faults at length. You're far too hard on yourself, Seth." He brushed some hair behind the man's ear. "I'm going to order you to spend a day only saying nice things about yourself."

"Bad habits, I suppose. Old habits." He paused before adding, "Stupid habits." He chuckled a bit before going a bit still at touch of the other man's hand to his ear.

He tilted his head some to place a quick kiss to the man's wrist, "If I am so ordered, I will do my best to comply. No promises, though."

Davide laughed. "What if I offered a very large award?" He asked, grinning, and ran his hand down the man's arm.

"I would try harder," chuckled Seth, "I would promise more, and I am not at all sure that I could shed my habits quite so quickly."

He moved a bit closer, a small smile on his face as he moved to touch Davide's cheek, "And with a large enough reward, I think I could be motivated to do rather well."

"Could you?" Davide asked, grinning. "I think I could be motivated to give you one if you promise to work very, very hard."

Seth took a deep breath to steady himself. What was it about that smile?

"Then I do so promise," he said quietly, a playful smile on his lips, "Shall it be an honour system or will you be following me around to keep tabs on me, hm?"

He straightened Seth's shirt, laughing again. "Honor system. You have to change, not me. But we'll be on the ship soon enough, and see each other enough. I can keep tabs on you then."
