Davide looked her over appraisingly. "What do you mean by that? Who else here is a monster?" He asked, curiously.

"Well they're all basically monsters," she said. "I mean. Fairies. It's a given. But some of them are also assholes."

Davide found he was gripping his cup. "Who?" He asked, again. "Give me a name. Please." He added.

Her eyes narrowed. "Dude. I am not allowed to give anyone's name. In a fairy court? That is so not on."

"You know what I mean." He replied, frustratedly, rolling his eyes. "Who has the little girl?"

"Nobody. Nobody has the little girl. The little girl is on her own, at present." She raised her eyebrows in surprise. "That's actually someone else's whole area, really . . . "

Davide took a sip of his drink. "You... It would be nice to get her back." He said, smiling, polite again. "Help me and I'll escort you to a play in Melusine." He offered.

"That's not much of a bribe. I told you, all the plays are crap this season." She gave him a more sympathetic look. "Look, I'm not putting you off on purpose. There really are some pretty heavy rules about my getting involved in someone else's affairs."

He laughed, although it sounded supremely sarcastic. "Are you in the Navy too?" He asked. "Hiding behind rules. You can't tell me you know things about the Acorn and then expect me not to ask questions." He narrowed his eyes. "A Tuatha took her. Not the Puck. And now she's somewhere all alone."

"The Navy's rules are small potatoes compared to some of this shit." She rolled her eyes, looking frustrated. "Fine, fine, you tortured it out of me, it was not my fault. Yes. But the one who took her isn't going to get her back. That would seem to be the main objective at this time. Preferably getting her back while Mommy Meg still has some hair."
