"If I was doing it, I'd be a bit more resigned to having it backfire on me," said Niabheara. She gave Barbara a bleak look. "Someone's going around being you whilst you were out. We don't know if it was the Puck itself or not."

Barbara smirked at Marcello. "The real me would have done something far more clever." She assured him. "I was a raven until this morning, it couldn't have been me. But Maitiu... Maitiu got switched with Moira, and he says that her memories before the switch were a bit.. obsessive over you, Countess." She said politely, touching her hair ribbon again. "Did this impersonator turn into a raven at some point?" She asked them.

"Ah..." Marcello hesitated. "Er, yes, why?" he asked. "Does that mean you know who it is? I..." He looked helplessly at Niabheara. "i'm having trouble keeping track of all these people."

Niabheara went ashen. Her fingers moved to her mouth. "Er. That was Moira, my bard. In Maitiu's body. Disguised as Barbara." She rubbed the ball of her torc. "I confess I am having problems keeping track of them myself just now. I . . . Moira?" She looked a bit ill.

"Maitiu is also a bard. He turns into a raven. Actually, he's a raven that turns into a man." She explained to Marcello. "Except currently he's in Moira's body. And Moira is Matt, as far as I can tell." She frowned. "Matt said he could recall all of Moira's memories, because of the bands. That means Moira has all of Matt's." Lang gave Marcello a long look. "He knew about us, that must be why she came to you. She thought she could manipulate you, I suppose."

Marcello grimaced. "Well, it...it was sort of frightening," he admitted, and looked to Niabheara. "What do we do then? Are all these people cursed?"

"Now, we find Moira," she said. "Frankly, everyone else who has been hobbed is safe enough as they are, at least for the next little while. If Moira's deliberately hiding herself as Maitiu, and using it to go harming people . . . that's not good."

"Not people, Countess." Barbara added. "Maitiu said she seemed very obsessive over you. Mad, almost." Barbara added. "And he would know. If she was trying to get Marcello to leave, then perhaps she wanted to hurt you." Lang frowned and crossed her arms, eyeing Marcello again. "Did Moira know your memory was gone?"

"I...don't know," Marcello replied. "I don't think I met her? I...Marcello scratched his head. "DidI meet this person?" he asked Niabheara.

"No. I had her restrained in the . . . I had Maitiu restrained in the tower. Shit!" She gave Barbara a pleading look. "We'll let him back out. I just told them to take in Moira; no one knew they'd been switched."

She glanced back to Marcello. "She knew. I had to Maitiu that the wedding was off again. Or who I thought was Maitiu."
