"No. Little showy things are not so difficult. The practical, though, when I must affect other things? A different story." She smiled a bit before nodding at Davide, "Oh, yes. Anyone can. They choose children, though, to take advantage of the malleability of the young mind. As we age it can become harder and harder to learn new rules and..." she shrugged a little, sadly, "And still, I have had half a thought to go to the mainland and see about trying to open up a school of some sort, to see if adults might be taught."

"You should." Davide told her, nodding his head. "I'm sure you'd never lack for students." He assured her. "I'd come to learn." He added, a bit more shyly.

"I should hope not," she agreed with a faraway smile, "Though I am more concerned about finding ways to prove that I am not a fraud. I can only imagine anyone attending the class, especially if they paid tuition or something of the sort, would be quite put off if they could not produce the results they wanted immediately." She tapped her chin a little and shrugged, "Bah. I would try to weed such people out quickly enough and..."

Her expression softened some and she tried to clear the plans from her mind lest she obsess over them the whole night. "Good neighbour, Davide. And I would be happy to have you." She smiled a bit before quickly adding, "In the class."

Davide colored a little at that. "I'm not... You're funny." He settled on. "I know when you don't mean it like that." He smiled. "Can you teach me anything now?" He asked eagerly.

Seth blushed a little more and shrugged, "Apologies. I think. I think there are parts of my mind which are permanently mired in filth." She laughed a little at that and shrugged some, "I. Right now? Gods, I could teach you some breathing techniques. Perhaps some guided visualization... but please understand, it was years before I could even light a candle." She reached her hands out to the youth and seemed to think better of something before she pulled them back.

"I fear it would be very little that was impressive. And perhaps it might be good for focusing?"

He looked at her hands and back up at her face. "I can focus." He said, amused, watching her. "That's.. it's amazing. Like learning how to sword fight, or ride. It takes years to do it perfectly." He said, looking at her for reassurance. "Although making fire is more impressive than hitting something with a metal stick."

"Obviously, you have never been stabbed," joked the woman with an easy smile, "I assure you, when you feel metal sinking into you, you will appreciate the skill of swordsmanship." Seth watched the youth and shrugged, "Naturally, I am inclined to think of magic as a higher Art... and I am quite useless in a fight. Lose my head, start doing all manner of nonsensical magics. Gods, not long ago, were it not for some very literal divine intervention, I would likely be quite dead, magic or no. I would have done much for a sword at that moment."

She paused for a moment, shivering at the memory, "Though gods alone know if it would have... Hm."

Seth sighed and shook her head before meeting Davide's gaze, "Even a great magician cannot get by soley on their Art. That is the first thing." She shifted on the bench, folding one leg beneath the other as she sat sideways on the bench, watching Davide. "Now turn to face me and close your eyes."

Davide quirked his mouth again. "Isn't that..." He trailed off, faced her and shut his eyes, raising his brows in curiousity.

"I know, counterintuitive," she replied with a smile. "And some things are easier if we are face to face. Now, you are going to feel a bit strange. I am going to touch your mind. This can be a very, very strange thing the first time. A kind of ego test," she explained as soothingly as she was able, "And then once we have established contact, I will show you what it feels like to make fire." She smiled a little there, "It is imperative that you remain calm as you can, alright?"

And with that, she reached out her mind, like a vaguely vertiginous hand tracing the outlines of Davide's consciousness, a voice from far away in the back of his head but growing closer.

His eyes flew open. "You're in my head?" He asked out loud, he said nervously, before taking a deep breath. He shut his eyes again. Can I do it to? He asked her.
