 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
"Well, many things, if given time. Only not the kinds of things Hobs can do." She smiled a bit and held out her hands, "Mostly... mostly I deal in themes since I came back to myself. It used to be that I would... I would try to restructure the thousands of thousands of little pieces that made up a thing." she gestured a little as if putting something together a piece at a time, "Now... Less so." She laughed a little, "Mostly it is simple sympathies, anything related to fire and to create variations on a theme. Like clothes, for instance." Her dress slowly slid in and out of four colours before becoming a pair of pants and a button-up shirt which exchanged colours with one another, red-white, white-red before becoming a pale blue dress again.
"I am still learning the broad strokes. And I hope that one day I can... I can do something great."

"That's..." Unthinkingly, he reached out to touch her blue dress, watching the colors shift in delight. "That is great." He said, grinning at her. "That's the most magic I've ever seen."

 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
She blushed a little and shrugged, "Thank you. It is. It is a life's work and. And so much more to do... and, yes. I like it." She shrugged shyly then, "It is easier for clothing. Clothing is. Is a thing and it is less of one. It has a life its own and a purpose of its own and that purpose is to cover. After that, it is just a matter of convincing them to do so in a different way." She smiled a little and shrugged.
"I could show you more if you like."

He nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, please. Show me something else?" He dropped her dress and blushed. "Please?"

 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
Seth blushed a bit and then stood up, taking a breath before some of her anxiety flowed away and she held out her hands, palms up, and a few little flames began to dance between them, slowly spinning and then running from one hand to the other, growing in length until they were a pair of snakelike flames slipping up her arms, down her back, around her waist and back up to her arms, her face not quite gone blank--she was enjoying herself and it was obviously a bit more concentration required.

Davide watched excitedly, but his dread grew as he saw more and more fire. "Doesn't that hurt?" He asked quietly.

 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
The flames coiled around her hand before slipping into her palm, which she covered with her other hand, smiling and shaking her head a little, "Not me, at any rate," she replied, taking her seat once again with a small, proud smile. "I understand fire. And it... it understands me a bit. So unless I am very careless, I do not burn."
She shrugged again, turning to Davide, "I have few enough skills. And I am. I am proud of that one."

"You can control fire enough so that it doesn't burn you." Davide said with a laugh. "But you've got more skills than anyone I've ever known. You should be proud of that." He said, touching her hand lightly again to see if she was warm. "That's the most magic I've ever seen in my life." He admitted. "You do it like you're breathing."

 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
Her hand was no warmer than Davide's and she blushed a bit, shrugging, "I. Good neighbour." She laughed a little, watching Davide, "It is... It was worth it," she said, sounding a bit surprised at the words coming from her mouth but then seeming to agree with them in short order.
"I should love to show you more magic. So few of us tallfolk have experience with it. I often thing that is something of a shame."

 Re: Still proceeding, 21 Dumann
Davide nodded. "I'd love to see more, if it doesn't tire you too much." He added, smiling slightly, and leaned back to look her over again. "Why is that? Can.. can anyone learn it? Your people have obviously been doing it enough to train each other. No one I know can do such things. It is a shame." He agreed. "At least you never need flint to start a fire."
