"Especially when you are tallfolk. Thankfully, we speak the language, so..." He grinned a bit. "And do not thank me, Jochy. I am only being a good neighbour." He clapped the man on the shoulder and took another sip from his glass.

"You seem a good man. If she does not choose you, I can well imagine it would pain her greatly."

When Seth had patted him on the shoulder, Jochy had quickly turned his head, capturing Seth's hand to brush a kiss against it before he let it go and shrugged. "I'm not a good man" Jochy protested. "But yeah, it sucks that she has to make that kind of choice. But there ain't anything I can do to make it easier. Or, well, there is. I could piss her off enough for her to not choose me and end up my enemy, but... I'm trying not to be that bloody self destructive anymore."

Seth pulled back his hand with a sort-of smile. "Jochy, teasing aside... do not do that. I wish to be your friend. When next we see one another, I would rather it not be awkward or... or whatever." He took another drink and sighed. "Many people are not good men. And still they do good things because they wish to be. At the end, what is the difference between them?" He smiled a bit at the man, sympathetic. "Do not try to make it easier. You are being hurt. Let it happen. When all actions are painful, do the one that will benefit the most people. And being kind to her while she makes this choice and kind to her other suitor... that is all you can do."

Seth smiled at the man, "You may win out because you are a little mad. It is astounding what a little madness does for one's chances with the ones they desire."

Jochy gave Seth an apologetic look. "Sorry. Old habits. It's hard not to react to you like you're... well, you know." How long had they been together? A bit more than five years. You grew close then.

"And yer right. I'm gonna go away and do something stupid where it won't blow up in anybody else's face but mine." He emptied the glass with a determined look on his face.

"It is alright, Jochy. I do understand. I am not angered." He smiled as if to prove the point. And the youth laughed a little, taking up his glass as well, "Then a toast, Jochy. To stupid things that will cause us joy in the short term and misery in the long." He held the glass aloft for a moment before likewise emptying his.

"Oh I'll drink to that, yer pretty much summed up my life there." Jochy shot Seth a smile and emptied the glass.

Damn, it was impossible to not want to sleep with the man.

Seth sucked a breath in through his teeth and laughed a bit at the burn before leaning on the table. "I think it is the life every man secretly hopes for, Jochy. I'll order another to toast to the fact that you live it."

He smirked a little at the man and was very happy that he was in his proper time. He was not planning anything just yet. And it was good to know that he could.
