Lang rolled her eyes. "Ja, the least dramatic way is taking me.. back or showing me.." Her mind could not reference anything, so she merely watched for a minute. "This is after a meal, yes? I cause people to clean up after themselves?"

"The Black Aspect calls this the Frank Capra option." He rolled his eyes. "Don't ask. This is the end of the Midsummer's Rites."

With his gloved hand, he pulled Barbara back a step as a black-haired bard crossed directly in front of them--terribly close. Within foot-stomping distance. He was unusual only in that he was significantly taller than the other Tuatha, and that a large black bird rode on his shoulder.

Lang stepped back, looking shocked. "Oh, that's Matthew." She said, waving. "I've never seen that bard before.." She frowned, and started to follow. "Matthew?"

Both bard and raven ignored Barbara's calling-out. "Have we been polite long enough?" the bird croaked.

The bard gave the raven a look of amused distaste. "Are you calling what you've been polite?"

The bird simply clucked.

The Grey Aspect shrugged. He followed her but did not actively try to stop her from going on. "I thought you would be interested to see that something had survived. Some things better than others. The young man is Leannan Oisin."

Lang paused, and looked back over her shoulder, at the bard and then at Grey. "Matthew's friend Leannan. Was I..". She swallowed. "Was I supposed to leave Matthew there? For Leannan?" She asked.

"The Maitiu you know would have been in Cnoch-na-Niall. This was the one he was before. That's another one of the troubles of the whole affair--there would have been two of them existing in the same place." He sounded disengaged. "But it still would have been less trouble than sending one of them there and back again. This is one of the lines that was compounded. Mabhe ni Niall died when Titania attacked her castle. Along with her son and her husband. There was never anyone to oppose Titania. There was never any reason for you to be here."

She sighed. "So he warned them that Titania was coming, and rescued.. Niabheara's father?" She asked. She turned back around to face him, looking grave. "I am getting this right? It's confusing."

Lang looked around again, and considered something. "I can go in his place."

"Cnoch-na-Niall was a massacre. Everyone died. Your Maitiu included. He might have warned them, he might not have done, the end is the same." He gestured to the bard and the raven. "This one is what remained." He gave her a sober look. "This is why it was decided that you be made anomalous. More people survived that way."

Lang shrugged. "Well, fine." She agreed. "Anomalous. If more people survive that way." She glanced back at the bard and the bird, then back at Lorenzo. "I will take my chances with flashbacks."

He looked a touch more sympathetic. "That's good to know," he said. "Because you're having one right now."

The stone slowly faded back to its old flat grey.
