"Oh." Davide said, and looked, yet again, a bit out of sorts. "Fine then." He seemed to relax slightly. "Er. Thank you for helping me." He said shyly. "You're a good friend, whether I'm enchanted or not."

Judith looked doubtful of his sincerity. "Haven't I already done this enough times? You're not the first this has happened to. It'll get sorted out."

He grinned. "So.. how does it usually get sorted? How many times has this happened to you?" He asked.

She raised an eyebrow. "Recently, or over a long period of years? Recently, just once. But there was a wee bout this summer where it was just about everyone except me. It was goin' around. Like intestinal grippe."

"Oh." He said, placated. "So, what do you do to fix it?" He asked. "Do I have to go on a quest, or answer a riddle, or something?"

"It depends on who did it," she said. "And what they did it for, and what sort of a point they're tryin' to make. And if they did it to spite you or to spite me. You haven't--" She looked the boy over, and shrugged. "Hell. You wouldn't remember if you pissed anyone off lately or not anyway. C'mon. Let's get indoors. At least we'll be warm while we're confused."
