He let out the breath he had been holding and reached out towards the discarded ropes with his mind, pulling them towards him.

To his (he had to admit) surprise, they obeyed.

Cara rubbed his shoulders reassuringly. "Do I need to get a bucket?" she offered, and then went quiet, watching him. "Anything?"

Morgana looked relieved. "There," she said, bright if a little tired. "Two little wards." She raised her hand and wiped off her face again. "And no one died or threw up this time."

Jochy swallowed down the nausea. "No bucket yet. But only 'cause I don't bloody dare to move." Fe fingered the rope that had come slithering to him as if it had been made of cold.

"I can... there's something there. I'm not completely locked down anymore. How much I can do... guess time'll tell, but there's something. And I ain't gone crazy yet. I hope." he added the last with a dry laugh.

"You were already a little crazy," Cara said gently, and she leaned down to kiss his forehead, her eyes glimmering. "Meg?" she asked politely. "I think we'll have that tea, please?"

"'Yet.'" First Morgana had to get her own head straight. She stayed kneeling on the floor, head bowed. "I would like to know what you are drawing from now."

"I... never asked. But gimme a little to get my head together and maybe I'll have an answer. Right now I feel like a pig who had a lucky escape at Yuletime. Yer okay?"

Cara frowned at Meg, concerned. "Jochy, are you drawing power from her?" she asked worriedly. "Meg, are you all right? Do you need anything?"

Morgana shook her head and tried to smile. "Always a little weak after a warding." As if to reassure Cara, she tried to stand up. She made it all the way to her feet and ended up immediately sitting back down on a bench. "I don't think he's drawing from me." She paused. "It had better not be me."
