 The one with the mysterious NPC, 25 Cantlos Marcello blew on his fingers to keep them from getting too chill as he knelt down in the patch of herbs closest to the house, picking through them to try to find some rosemary that hadn't caught a frost yet.

Re: The one with the mysterious NPC, 25 Cantlos Meanwhile, while Marcello was searching, a thin deer slipped in a swift, noiseless leap over the little stone wall that separated Morgana's rear garden from the slope down to the moorland--a deer that had no business being this far away from a forest. It regarded Marcello with a fearless, patient expression from less than three yards away.

Re: The one with the mysterious NPC, 25 Cantlos The deer started at the flapping, bracing all four hooves just shy of bolting. After Marcello stopped talking, however, it advanced again. On the verge of reaching him, it suddenly sneezed, and, as if its own sound surprised it, it dashed back out of reach.

It trotted back toward him, nose extended toward the sprig, then bapped its head downward suddenly and knocked it from his hand. It swiftly blurred, shifting, to become a very young human-looking woman in a very tattered, besmudged blue-and-white plaid dress, with very long and also slightly tattered black hair down her back. "Who do you think you are?" she snapped. "Morgana! Mistress Morgana! Tallfolk in your garden, mistress!"

Above her eyebrow was a small cut bound up with three small black stitches. "I only just found out she was back. They didn't bother to tell me she had a tallfolk."
