"You thought it was her," Andre answered irritably, and he kissed Spider's cheek. "Are you all right, love? he asked. "Do you need something? Anything?"

Still coughing, she gave a tiny shake of her head, then stopped coughing long enough to suck in a long draught of air. She seemed to notice where they were. "I don't want to be down here." Her voice was very gravelly and low. She looked over Andre's shoulder. "Lang? It was the same thing. Same dream."

"The one where she touches your ribs?" Lang replied, sadly, frowning. "And I was almost right. At least we found her."

"All right," Andre said. "We'll get you up on deck. Is your--- can we move you?" he asked hesitantly. "What-- what dream? Have you been having nightmares again?"

Spider nodded again and gave him a mournful look. "I didn't mean to. I just fell asleep. And then someone grabbed me." She struggled to slide up the wall and get back to her feet, but the floor seemed slippery; she didn't make much progress.

"We should wait. You shouldn't move like that, you could hurt yourself." She replied. Then she narrowed her eyes. "Why the hell were you sleeping down here? Alone? Are you really that muddleheaded?"

"She didn't fall asleep down here," Andre pointed out, putting an arm around Spider to help her balance. "She's-- look, she can stand up just fine," he said to Barbara. "She's going to be sick down here. Did you see who it was, Cherie?"

Spider flashed Barbara such a hard, ugly look that it seemed, just for a moment, to physically distort her face--mouth like a knife slash, lines cut deep to either side, eyes narrowed to slits. She was too weak to hold such a malicious expression very long. "Not alone. I was with Andre. I thought--" She fell back coughing again and shook her head, delicately, as if trying not to dislodge a bone in her neck. "Didn't see nothing. Nobody. I don't remember."

Lang simply rolled her eyes. "Jesus. They should tie you down in the infirmary so you can get some sleep." She looked her over again. "We'll find whoever it is, then. But it was a dream about Kullie?" She asked.

Andre pulled Spider close to him, leaning the girl against him. "What did you think, Cherie? What happened?"
