Re: The Case of the Invisible Strangler, 1 Samon, Night
Andre started off in the direction Judith indicated. "Well. Anyone would see him as long as she's not sleepwalking invisible."

Re: The Case of the Invisible Strangler, 1 Samon, Night
Spider was quite visible, just inside the doorway, sitting with her back against a wall and her arm atop a crate, her cheek cradled against it as if she was still sleeping. Around the top and bottom of the thin cord around her neck, the skin was already a deep purple.

Barbara looked over Spider. "Why is she sleeping here?" She asked, confused, and whistled. "Spider!"

Andre's face went white. "Spider!" he shouted, and scrambled over to her, reaching for her shoulders. "Spider, Spider!" he cried frantically.

Spider made a thick sound, very like a snore. Her eyes slitted open and she regarded Andre with no interest whatsoever before her head tipped forward again.

Judith slipped out her knife. She slipped between Andre and the wall and raised Spider's hair to cut the rope off the girl's neck. "Don't move her. I'll get one of those damn marines and that asshole surgeon."

Lang hovered back from them. "She was garroted?" She said, stupidly, and glanced around. "Shit. Is she going to be all right?"

Re: The Case of the Invisible Strangler, 1 Samon, Night
Andre dropped to his knees beside Spider, and kissed the girl's head. "She has to be," he said frantically. "She can't not be. Spider...Spider?"

Spider did not react. Then she did, but sluggishly; she tried to get a hand up to her neck. "I don't know what happened," she said, voice raspy, then started to cough.

"There's someone garroting people." Lang explained, still hanging back, looking nervous. "We thought it was you."
