Re: The Case of the Invisible Strangler, 1 Samon, Night
Judith, who had fallen into a studious examination of Andre's chest, snapped herself out of it. The little area around them took on a very small but noticeable chill immediately afterwards. She addressed the marine. "In this case it's a matter of you seein' her. Has anyone been allowed near the prisoner on your watch?"

"This watch has just begun," he pointed out. "No crewman has been here but the cook's boy bringing him his slops, and he was not allowed in, obviously."

"Well hopefully they weren't poisoned." Lang replied rubbing her arms from the chill. "Shouldn't you have a check on him then?" She suggested, before snorting at Andre. "Protection and distraction in one."

"Distraction?" Andre asked, oblivious. He looked to Judith. "Where is she?" he asked. "Is ther a way around?"

"My thoughts exactly," said Judith, not joking, to Barbara. She looked to the marines. "Keep your eye on your man," she told them, before turning back to Andre. Judith was unfortunately just about sternum-high on him and kept having to avert her gaze. "Still on this deck. Aft magazine or thereabouts. She's stopped movin'."

"Is she giving someone a very tight hug about the neck?" Barbara asked and turned, heading towards the aft magazine. "Distraction, Andre, because your chest is pretty."

Andre looked down at his chest. "Is it?" he asked. "It, er...looks normal to me. Are you--" He stopped. "How do we get to her?"

Judith gestured down the passage. "Back this way. If there's anyone still in there they would have seen her. I don't know if she's sleepin' or not."
She addressed the marine sternly. "You watch that man."

Re: The Case of the Invisible Strangler, 1 Samon, Night
The elder gave her a small sardonic nod. "That's what they pay us for, madame."

Barbara snorted. "You mean sleepwalking?" Then she grinned. "Pretty. Not the type of pretty I like, ja, but not ugly. Maybe you should lose your shirt more than the pants."
